End of 2022 Fundraiser

We are thrilled to announce that after 3 years of operating the free store on 7947 Main Street in Hunter, Phoenix Web has recently achieved 501(c)3 nonprofit status - which means we are officially a public charity! 🥳 🔥

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY FOR THE THREE YEARS OF SUPPORT, WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU!

With this huge step we are looking forward, and dreaming of expanding the free store, working with more local artists, presenting more locally made crafts and skill shares, and getting the shop fully staffed.

We have been so happy to help families stock up on clothing for growing kids, getting winter coats to those who can't afford it, replenishing a woman's wardrobe after she lost all her laundry at the laundromat, keeping a full store's worth of stock out of landfills, and having a safe space for art making and community engagement. You know we offer everything for free - we always will! - and we run completely off of voluntary in-shop donations to our fishbowl.

But - we are entering our most difficult time of the year, when temperatures get cold, our heating bills skyrocket, and we struggle to keep up as foot traffic in the village slows. Our community fridge & pantry is bare. As the staff that were available in the summer must leave for the cold months, we have a shortage of volunteers.

Can you help us raise 6 months worth of operating costs to ensure we will be open through the summer of 2023? It's only $4,800 to raise before the end of the year. Click here to help us make this goal.

We are also in dire need of volunteers to cover the shop! The shop atmosphere is super-relaxed, just a few minor opening tasks, and then the computer, printer, and craft supplies are at your disposal. Our customers have all been wonderful, and if you are new to the area this is a great way to meet locals. Plus you get first access to any donations that come in We're also happy to sign any paperwork for our volunteers to get school credit for their community service!
