VOLUNTEER

Help us by donating your extra time! We always need volunteers to open the shop, help out at the garden, and take care of random tasks like taking out the garbage and organizing. Reach out to us via email, phone, or come by the shop and ask for more information. Some opportunities are listed below.

SUPPORT

Support us by making a monetary contribution today. We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, so your donation is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

(We can also receive donations via Venmo at phoenix-web and at Patreon https://www.patreon.com/phoenixweb)

If you have any clean, but torn or otherwise unusable or unwearable textiles - such as from old clothing, upholstery, drapery, bedding, even fluff from old stuffed animals - bring it in! We have found a textile recycler that will recycle without offloading the products to third-world countries, and the best part is that they pay us for what they collect - so your old clothes can turn into funding for the free store, while also decluttering your life!

DONATE

Donate your gently used clothing, home goods, accessories, toys, entertainment, bedding, sports gear, etc to help keep our store stocked, and the landfills a little emptier!

GET INVOLVED!

There are tons of ways to help out, if you’re interested in connecting with our community check out the opportunities below

Cover the shop

Our most basic function is keeping the Free Store, local art gallery, and Makers’ Space open. We can always use more help in extending our hours, or covering missed shifts. A day at the Web is low-key; we ask only that you put some of the racks outside (if weather allows) so there is more space inside, and say hi to people as they come in. While you’re here you can use the computer or Maker’s Space; or if you feel inclined you can help organize the shop or put away donations as they come in.

Organizing / cleaning / maintaining

If you only have a moment here or there but still want to help out (bless you!), the Free Mart’s shelves could use a little straightening + folding. The Community Fridge (around the corner from the Web) could also use a little love every now and again - straightening up the items, organizing them by type, etc.

COmmunity garden

Do you enjoy working with your hands, or growing your own veggies, but don’t have space at home? We have a beautiful, spacious garden with lots of space for a variety of plants - we even have space out in the field or covered by greenhouse plastic. We ask only that everything grown be organic, and we can show you the Shumei methods that we have been sticking to.

EVENTS - SKILL SHARES AND PERFORMERS

Hit us up if you have an idea for a workshop, music performance, or other kind of small event we could host!

We’d also like to do more events in general, so if you enjoy organizing events let us know!

Administration

If you are more of a computer person, whether it be graphic design, organization, marketing, planning, research, website work, etc reach out. We often have a few extra projects we just can’t get to and we’d be happy to delegate!

sell your art!

We are always happy to include new artists in our showcase! We don’t take a commission for artwork sales, so you make 100% of the sale price that you set. Contact us for more info!
