Phoenix Web Needs Volunteers!

。゚・ ҉ PHOENIX WEB NEEDS YOUR HELP ҉ ・゚。

Spring is right around the corner, and we are so excited for our busy summer season!

We could use volunteer help in a variety of ways but right now are focusing on two areas in general: SHOP COVERAGE and COMMUNITY GARDENERS! Come join our mutual aid network and meet like-minded people while helping out your local community! Here is a little more info on each area:

Running the Phoenix Web Shop is super straight forward and chill - you can work however long of a shift you'd like, and we're happy to sign off on any paperwork that could give you school/work credit for the time you put in. Since we are mostly a free store with only a few items for sale, we don't expect you to upsell or hassle customers, and you can spend your time here however you'd like (including using our extensive arts and crafts supplies). As the weather gets nicer, you'll get to meet a lot of different folks coming through the shop - from regular locals, to tourists visiting from all over the world. And you'll get first dibs on any free store donations that come in while you're here.

We have a community garden plot that could use more TLC than we have time to give! We dream of one day growing enough produce to provide for our community fridge, but in the meantime we are learning and cultivating our skills. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or a complete newbie we'd love to work with you. You can select an area to work on your own plants, or we can show you what we are working on together, and you can work whenever you have time. We have greenhouses, an automatic irrigation system, and all the tools you'll need.

If you're interested in either of these volunteer positions, reach out to us via email at phoenixwebcollective@gmail.com or stop by the shop and leave your contact info + availability. Helena or Mars will get back to you!

We are grateful for however you can help out! We are in the process of applying to be a nonprofit, but in the meantime we are still 100% volunteer-run. Everytime someone new comes in we get great feedback about how appreciated the free store is - both from people who are in need and can get things from us they otherwise could not afford; as well as people who have used products they don't want to throw out but don't use anymore. We are resourceful and run on a tight budget but the only way Phoenix Web can stay open is with our local community's support (and a little help from tourists, too ). Don't underestimate how it feels good to help others ~ Phoenix Web is one unique way to volunteer locally.
